Exclusions

When the Oracle Funeral Plan will not pay out:

  • When death is due to active participation in criminal acts
  • If the Oracle Funeral Plan terms and conditions are not met
  • If any information provided when taking up cover, updating any of the plan details, or submitting a claim, is materially incorrect, fraudulent, misrepresented or omitted

Waiting period

There is a waiting period of 6 months for natural death and 12 months for suicide. If you have already served these waiting periods with a licensed insurer in South Africa, you won’t have to serve them again with Oracle Funerals when you switch.*

How to claim

To start your claim, contact us via email at info@oraclefunerals.co.za, via telephone at +27 861 236 346 or via the contact form on our website.

Ensure that when you submit your claim, you need to email copies of the following to info@oraclefunerals.co.za:

  • ID or passport/visa of the deceased
  • ID or passport/visa of the person claiming
  • Notice of death form BI1663
  • Statement by the police – only if the death was due to unnatural causes
  • Completed claim form

We pay your claim

  • If we need any further documentation or information, we will let you know. Please note that this may delay the payout.
  • If we have everything we need, you can expect a payout within 24 hours.
